VoIP for Business

VoIP is a great way for businesses to save money on long distance. Since VoIP uses the Internet as the backbone, the only cost incurred is the monthly Internet bill to your ISP.

The most convenient VoIP service for businesses is the fully hardware-based set up. With this method, you use phone sets just like with traditional land-line telephone services, but without a PC. In this case, you need either an ATA (Analogue Terminal Adaptor) with a traditional phone, or a specialized IP phone, along with a service. IP phones do not require having an ATA, because they have the functionality included. IP phones are mostly used by businesses.

Small businesses considering VoIP can have several features for very little cost, such as extension dialing, an auto attendant to answer the phone and route calls to VoIP extensions, voice-mail boxes and audio conferencing. These seem to be part of most small-business VoIP packages.

Using a computer to make VoIP calls means never being out of touch anywhere there is Internet access. Employees can work from anywhere that has a fast, reliable and stable Internet connection.
